The viral Smashburger Tacos are all over the internet, so we decided to give a them a try. We did a healthier version with gluten-free tortillas and our new lactose-free gouda.
Servings: 8 tacos
Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 3-4 min per taco

A blend of burger and taco
Sauce burger
2 tbsp Ketchup
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Pickle (finely diced)
1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Pepper
1 pinch Smoked paprika
1 pinch Garlic powder
Recipe steps
Add all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix. Set aside or chill in the fridge.
Smash Burger Tortilla
400g Ground beef
Prise Salt and pepper
Recipe steps
Divide the ground beef pack into 8 equal portions (about 50g of meat). Roll each portion into a ball and set aside.
Press one ball of minced meat onto a tortilla, making sure you flat it into one even and thin layer with your fingers or a fork. Add a pinch of salt and pepper on top. Repeat this step for each tortilla.
Place the tortilla (meat side down) in a hot cast-iron skillet (hit to medium-high). Press it down so that it creates a bit of a crust. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes (because the beef patty is so thin it cooks quickly and evenly). Flip it over, add the slice of cheese, reduce the heat to medium-low and put a lid on the pan so the cheese melts for another minute.
Remove the tortilla from the pan, top with pickle slices, chopped lettuce, and the sauce. Fold over and eat like a taco. Enjoy!
