Kefir Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

250g flour
125g cocoa powder
1 packet (11g) baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
4 eggs
250g sugar
100g dark chocolate, optional

Recipe steps

Melt the butter in a double boiler or the microwave at 20-second increments and let it cool for at least 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until the mixture whitens. Stir in the kefir and melted butter.

Sift in the dry ingredients and combine with a spatula.

Grease a round springform or baking pan with butter and line the bottom with parchment paper. Pour in the batter, spread it out evenly, and bake for 45 minutes at 180°C, fan.

Once the cake has cooled down, optionally melt some dark chocolate in a double boiler or the microwave at 20-second increments. Pour it over the cake and let it solidify before slicing.
