Kachkeis-toast-champignon

Do you like mushroom toast?You'll love our version with Kachkéis!

Serves 4 • Prep time: 10 minutes • Cooking time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

6 yellow onions
500g brown mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
  Salt, pepper
1 baguette
1 handful of fresh parsley

Recipe steps

Finely slice the onions.

Add them to a hot pan with half the butter. Let them cook over medium heat for 30 minutes until golden and caramelized. Stir regularly.

Clean the mushrooms with a soft brush or wet paper towels. Cut them into 0.5 cm slices. Mince the garlic cloves.

Heat a pan with the rest of the butter. Sauté the garlic over medium-high heat.

Add in the mushrooms. Sauté for 2-3 minutes without stirring until they turn golden brown. Then, reduce the heat and cook for 7-10 minutes until soft. Season with salt and pepper.

Cut the baguette into slices and toast them in a toaster. Spread a generous amount of Kachkéis on top.

Then, load the toasts with sautéed mushrooms and caramelized onions. Finish them off with some fresh parsley.
