A delicious surprise for Mother's Day

Shortcrust pastry

125g icing butter
1 egg (size M)
330g flour
40g almond powder
5g salt
  zest of half a lemon

Recipe steps

Mix the soft butter and icing sugar with an electric mixer until you have a homogeneous mass.

Add the egg and mix again.

Add the flour, almond powder, salt and half a lemon peel.

Leave the dough to rest for at least 3 hours in the fridge.

Roll out the dough and cut out 8 heart shapes with a cookie cutter. Prick the hearts with a fork to prevent the dough from forming lumps.

Bake the hearts at 160°C fan for 14 minutes.

White chocolate and vanilla ganache

180g white chocolate, cut in pieces
1/2 vanilla pod

Recipe steps

Split the vanilla pod in half.

Boil the cream with the vanilla seeds.

Pour the cream over the white chocolate and mix the ganache with a hand blender.

Filter the ganache and leave it to rest for 5 hours in the fridge.

Beat the ganache with an electric mixer and put it in a bag with a plain tip.

Take the first heart and place the ganache on top.

Place the second heart on top and pipe the whipped cream again.

Decorate your heart with red fruit as desired.
